I have an easy going, lighthearted nature with students that focuses on connection and positive reinforcement. My approach is to first assess the needs of each student and then to meet them where they are. If appropriate, I use a Socratic method, asking students questions that allow them to draw the proper conclusions so they can understand the concepts behind the content. Some students may need more of a foundation before this approach is practical. Other students may have room to improve with study strategies, goal setting for large projects and tests, organization, and time management. I have taught a variety of students from advanced students who need just a bit more clarity to extend their understanding to students with learning challenges.
